We're All Apart Of A Sinking Ship.

…To New Beginnings.

Here I am wide awake at around 7:30am on October 21st, a beautiful Wednesday morning and am truly inspired to make a change in my life.

For far too long I’ve watched the hands of time turn and the hour glass of my youth grow thinner and for far too long I have been wasting my days stressing about the small things that won’t matter a few months or even a few weeks from now. I’ve been so stressed out about things in my life, such as bills, finding someone, true friends, family issues, not having a place of my own and things with These Arms Of Faith things and how things weren’t picking up when there is nothing I can do to speed up that process so i might as well sit back and enjoy the ride.

What inspired this change? To be honest, God. A lot of people think that god is a failsafe when all else fails much like a backbone or support beam. A lot of the times I just lose sight of who is really in control of my life because I get so connected to the world. I was raised under the mindset that I make my own future and set things in motion for myself and no one else could.

God & I have an unusual relationship. To clear the air I am a Christian as we all our in These Arms Of Faith, but I have my differences from the Christianity Community. I don’t believe in casting the stone of judgement at people for not believing what I believe and think they are entitled to their own beliefs what ever it maybe. With that being said I don’t believe in the “Promoting” of God & Christ is necessary to create followers. I believe that god has a plan for them just like he has a plan for me and eventually my path led me to see him and that he sent his only begotten son to die on the cross and forgive us for our sins and if it is in their path, they will believe as well.

Now with that being said I took this morning to reflect on who I really am and choose which direction I should go in and it made me think back of what I have done and how just playing drums as a hobby turned into something that took me all over the country. Although I haven’t been to a college and I’m not two years into a bachelors degree, I am damn proud of who I am and what I’ve accomplished.

I am Twenty years old. I have seen 43 States and all of Canada. I have played with National Acts. I have played the 2008 Vans Warped Tour (All Summer). I’ve been in Three incredible bands until I found my calling in These Arms Of Faith. I’ve played SOLD OUT venues. Wrote a record with Tom Denney (A Day To Remember) and have met amazing friends and had amazing memories with people that I love and people I’ve grown to love including my best friends.

Lastly, I have seen the East Coast sunrise all the way to a West Coast sunset and if I were to die today I would know who I am and what I lived for and that’s more than any paper or diploma could say.
